Characteristics of Turk Tango
Tango has been loved and adopted in every country. Being affected by the local rhythms, and music taste, it has also wore the characteristics of the societies. This gave the birth for a national tango culture and understanding.
The very first characteristics of the Turk Tango is that, it has been inspired deeply by the Turkish harmonies, and tunes. The compositions have reflected the beloved melody, and historical taste of the Turkish music evolvement.
The other property of Turk Tango is in the instruments used in the music. The main instrument of Tango, bandoneon (which was very hard to obtain, and play) has been replaced by the instrument called akordeon. The different tune, and harmony from akordeon has created a pretty different infrastructure than the Argentine Tango.
One of the characteristics is in the text of the music. The instrumental composition in Turk Tango is very rare. On the other hand, the first Turk Tango, whose title is Tango Turk, was an instrumental one. Orhan Avsar, the first bandoneonist of Turkey, has tried to use clarinet instead of a soloist for the cases he had difficulties in finding the proper voice to accent the tune.
The main difference between the Argentine Tango and the Turk Tango is in the dance itself. Argentine Tango is composed by the complex, and changing steps that lead a very dynamic, and accented dance. Turk Tango dance is composed of the repetition of the basic steps, and stands of the Argentine Tango.
Turk Tango has started with the words covering the the love, and separation.
In one of his compositions, Kadri Cerrahoglu, is complaining his lover who
frustrated him, and broke his heart to his mother. The song is known as Anneme
(To My Mother). Turk Tango dance did not include any milonguero styles. Indeed,
the frame was not more than a gentle touch, and a polite embrace.
